What's New at Clearview

Don't just GO to church, BE the church

On August 22nd, we will begin a new teaching series titled, "Don't just GO to church, BE the church." This is a great opportunity to invite friends as we explore what God’s intention was for His church.

Be a Part of a Group

We believe that the Christian life was never meant to be solitary! We need each other for support, friendship, and spiritual nurturing. Sunday School life groups are all about taking care of each other as we discover together how to live out God’s love. In fact, we grow closer together as we grow closer to God!

April Clearview Update

Greetings Clearview Family,

I just wanted to briefly share with the church body some of the great things God is doing at Clearview.

* Easter Sunday – The attendance for our Easter Sunday service was record breaking for Clearview. One hundred and fifty-seven (157) people attended. We have also averaged 105 during the previous 10 weeks. One more encouraging note is that the Sunday after Easter we usually see a large drop off in attendance and that was not the case this past Sunday (107). It is very encouraging to see all the new faces. During this time of growth it is important to keep our focus not on numbers, but rather on being faithful to minister to the people that God has entrusted to us.

* This Week’s Sermon – Every now and then we do a little something different in the morning service to help an idea “stick” with us. I am very excited to be sharing from Micah 7 and Psalm 32 this coming Sunday. Our main focus will be about how God has hurled all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.

* Church Softball – Opening night is Thursday April 15th. Our Men will play at 8pm and our Coed team will play at 9pm. Both games are located at the Shufford Softball Complex on Field #3. Everyone is invited to come out and cheer on your team. If you are interested in getting the official fan email updates, please let me know so we can add you to our list. All game times are listed online and on the side hallway bulletin board.

* Egg Hunt Thank You – Once again thank you to all the wonderful people who gave of their time to help make our annual Egg Hunt a great success. We continue to hear positive feedback from the event.

* Footwashing Service – It was encouraging to note how we had six (6) first time attendees at our Footwashing Service. This was a small intimate service with: worship, scripture reading, prayer, communion, and Footwashing.

* Sit Close & Park Far – I am very proud of our congregation and how everybody is catching this vision to help make room for new guests and visitors. Be on the lookout for an official Greeting Team. We will be making announcements and doing some recruiting and training very soon!

All the success that Clearview has experienced is a direct result of God blessing your faithfulness. Your faithfulness in giving, in service and in prayer.

I Love Being Your Pastor,

Charlie

New Sermon Series

Love is the most important word in the English language - and the most confusing. Both secular and religious thinkers agree that love plays a central role in life. We are told that, "Love makes the world go round." Thousands of books, songs, magazines, and movies are peppered with the word. Numerous philosophical and theological systems have made a prominent place for love. And Jesus wanted love to be the distinguishing characteristic of His followers.

The above quote comes from the popular Gary Chapman book titled, The Five Love Languages. During the next six weeks we will be looking at these love languages and how Jesus spoke each one of them fluently. I hope you will commit to joining us for the next six weeks for "language school".

Clearview Mints

If you are viewing this page because someone gave you a delicious butter-mint, we would love to hear from you! The mints were distributed last Sunday as a reminder to all to "Taste and see that the LORD is good." Psalm 34:8
